My ISP is blocking port 25. How can I use my ePolk.com hosted email account?

Port 25 is the default port for sending email. ISPs may block this port to reduce the amount of spam generated by worms on infected machines using their network. If your ISP blocks port 25, you will be unable to connect to our email server to send email messages.

In order to connect to the ePolk.com email server to send email using your hosted email account, you must configure your email client to use an alternate port for sending email.

Configure Outlook (Express, 97, or 2000) to Use Alternate SMTP Port

  1. Click Tools > Accounts
  2. Select the email account to be SMTP-authenticated and click Properties
  3. Choose the Advanced tab
  4. Change Outgoing server (SMTP) to 366
  5. Click OK
  6. Click Next
  7. Click Finish

Configure Outlook (XP, 2003 or newer) to Use Alternate SMTP Port

  2. Click Next
  3. Select the email account to be SMTP-authenticated and click Change
  4. Click More Settings
